Toplux Magnesium Complex vs. Magnesium Glycinate: What the Labels Say
Two magnesium labels side by side — dose, forms, price per 100 mg and certification — read from each product's own panel.
We make Electric Tiger Magnesium Glycinate, which competes with the product compared here. Every figure about Toplux Magnesium Complex is read from its own label and listing, checked on 25 September 2026, and linked below. If something has changed, tell us and we will update it. Toplux is a trademark of its owner; Electric Tiger is not affiliated with Toplux Nutrition.
The short answer: Toplux Magnesium Complex lists 500 mg of magnesium in one capsule, drawn from eight forms of magnesium, at $29.97 for 90 capsules on its site — about 7¢ per 100 mg. Electric Tiger Magnesium Glycinate lists 275 mg of magnesium per three-capsule serving from one form, magnesium glycinate, as low as $16.30 a bottle — about 20¢ per 100 mg. Toplux gives more magnesium per dollar and states NSF contents certification. Ours names a single form with its compound weight, and its serving sits under the 350 mg upper limit for magnesium from supplements.

Toplux's price is one bottle as listed on its own site, checked 25 September 2026. Ours is the lowest price we sell a bottle at (on a 3-bottle subscription), as of 26 September 2026; every price option is on the product page. Price per 100 mg divides the bottle price by the total magnesium the label says the bottle holds.
What "8 forms of magnesium" tells you
The Toplux panel lists eight magnesium compounds as the sources of its 500 mg, and gives one total for all of them. It does not say how much magnesium comes from each form, so the label alone cannot tell you how much of the 500 mg is glycinate, how much is oxide, and so on.
Our panel lists one compound and prints both of its numbers: 2,500 mg of magnesium glycinate, which provides 275 mg of magnesium. If the specific form matters to you, that is the difference to weigh. If it does not, the total is the number to compare.
Is 500 mg of magnesium a day too much?
The US upper limit for magnesium from supplements is 350 mg a day for adults. It applies to supplements and medicines, not to magnesium in food, and it was set at the level where loose stools start to become more likely. A 2023 review argued the limit should be re-evaluated, finding that 7 of 10 trials between 128 and 1,200 mg a day showed no significant difference in diarrhea against control.
Toplux's label lists 500 mg per capsule, with directions of up to one capsule a day. Ours lists 275 mg per serving. If you take more than 350 mg of magnesium a day from supplements — or if you have kidney disease, are pregnant or nursing, or take prescription medication — ask your doctor what is right for you.
Toplux Magnesium Complex side effects
Neither label lists side effects. For magnesium supplements generally, the one usually reported is looser stools, and it is more likely at higher doses. That applies to any magnesium product, including ours.
Which should you choose?
If the most magnesium for the money matters most, the Toplux label gives more per dollar, and it states third-party contents certification. If you want to know exactly which form you are taking and how much of it, or want a serving that stays under the 350 mg supplemental limit, our label prints both numbers.
Either way, compare magnesium products on the elemental amount and the price per 100 mg, not the number of forms or the size of the bottle. Our magnesium glycinate page has a calculator that works it out for any label.
