CoQ10 gummies: what the research does and doesn't cover

We found no human study of CoQ10 gummies. This guide covers what formulation studies show, how to read a gummy label, and the capsule we sell instead.

By Electric Tiger Editorial

We found no human study of CoQ10 gummies or chewables, so we can't say whether they are as effective as capsules. What the research does show is that CoQ10 is fat-soluble and that how it is formulated changes how much reaches the blood. A gummy is one more formulation nobody appears to have tested. Check the amount per serving, and the form.

What the research says about gummy CoQ10

We searched PubMed on 2 October 2026 for studies of CoQ10 gummies, chewables and chews and found none that measured absorption or any outcome. That is a gap in what we could find, not proof that gummies don't work. It does mean any claim that a gummy is "as good as" or "better than" a capsule has nothing from a trial behind it that we could read.

The formulation studies that do exist tested capsules and liquids. In a crossover of 10 healthy adults given 100 mg of CoQ10 in four formulations, an oil-based soybean softgel had the highest bioavailability, and a hard capsule of powder was one of the comparators (Weis 1994). A 2006 review describes CoQ10 as hydrophobic and slowly, limitedly absorbed, with solubilised formulations showing better bioavailability; its authors work for a CoQ10 manufacturer (Bhagavan 2006). Neither tells you how a gummy base behaves.

How to read a CoQ10 gummy label

  • Serving size. A serving can be more than one piece. Divide the milligrams by the number of pieces you actually eat.
  • Form. The panel should say ubiquinone or ubiquinol. Our forms guide explains what is and isn't known about the difference.
  • Added sugar and sweeteners. They are in the Supplement Facts and Other Ingredients; compare them with the milligrams of CoQ10 you are getting.
  • Dose. The doses in the trials we cite ran from 60 to 300 mg a day, and a 2006 safety review covered 60 to 1,200 mg a day (Hathcock 2006). See how much CoQ10 to take.

What we sell instead

We don't make a gummy. Electric Tiger CoQ10 200 mg is a capsule: 200 mg of coenzyme Q10 as ubiquinone, with rice flour in a hypromellose capsule, one capsule a day, 30 to a bottle, as low as $16.31 a bottle on subscription. It is plain powder with no oil, and we have no absorption data on it. We make no benefit claim for it.

Questions people ask

Are CoQ10 gummies effective? Are they any good?

We can't say. No trial of CoQ10 gummies turned up in our search, so effectiveness hasn't been shown or ruled out by anything we could read. How well any CoQ10 product works depends on the dose and form in it, and on the formulation, which gummies leave untested.

Are CoQ10 gummies as effective as pills?

No head-to-head study of gummies and capsules was found. The closest evidence compares capsules, softgels and liquids with each other, and results differ by product (Weis 1994).

Which CoQ10 gummy is best? Are there any that taste good?

We don't rank gummies, and we have no taste data to offer. A fair way to choose is the label: the milligrams per gummy, the number of gummies per serving, the stated form, and the sugar content.

What does a 100, 200, 300, 500, 600 or 800 mg CoQ10 gummy mean?

Check whether that figure is per gummy or per serving. Amounts at the high end of that list, above the 300 mg of the trials we cite, are inside the range the 2006 safety review covered (60 to 1,200 mg a day), but our own label says not to exceed the recommended dose, and we give no reason to go higher. If you take other CoQ10 products, add the totals.

Should I read the rest of the label before buying any CoQ10?

Yes: how to choose a CoQ10 sets out the full checklist, and CoQ10 powder and liquid covers the other non-capsule formats.
